This is an extremely exciting time to join our ICT Directorate as we introduce initiatives that underpin the Trusts vision, purpose and values.

We are looking for a driven ICT Senior Voice and Data Engineer to join the existing team.  Current support extends to Cisco VoIP systems distributed over approximately 100 sites across Wales. The system extends to 999, NHSDirect and back office functionality. Also supported by the team is the LAN infrastructure and firewalls.  The individual should posses the ability to thrive in environments where personal development and personal performance go hand in hand with a strong customer service culture.

You will provide second line, day to day support to all users of the voice and data systems of the Trust.  You will be expected to ensure the efficient maintenance and administration of all voice and data systems on a second line support basis, where appropriate.  You will support enhancements to existing systems as well as implement and support the development of these services.


Please note there maybe a requirement for out of hours on call support in this post


Practical skills and knowledge of the following is desirable :

  • Cisco Infrastructure knowledge and experience (Switching / Routing -OSPF / Firewall – ASA’s )
  • Cisco Call Manager including good working knowledge of H323 voice gateways
  • Cisco UCCX (Contact Centre) scripting. UCCE knowledge advantageous.
  • Knowledge and experience of Cisco Wireless controllers and authentication.
  • Fortinet UTM appliances
  • Diagnostic and trouble shooting skills for Microsoft OS and server hardware
  • VMware
  • Experience and knowledge of working in an NHS environment.


There will be a requirement to work out of different sites so a valid driving licence is essential.


The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
